My Weekly Obsession: Undone

It’s that time of the week again (can I get a halaloo up in here? I know I can get a yes GAWD for that!)  and I cannot wait to give you the 411 on this fabulous (if not slightly emotionally manipulative) author who will leave you desperately searching for answers that don’t exist.

Who is this cunning literary genius I speak of? It’s little miss Cat Clarke that has my mind and body in a tizzle and it’s her book Undone that is singularly one of the best and worst books I’ve ever read, and here is why…

Not many people write young adult fiction specifically for the LGBT community, and even a smaller fraction of those can fully encapsulate some of the real life issues that we have to deal with on a day to day basis. I find it even more impressive that instead of doing this through a gay main character’s p.o.v (which was a clever decision given that she didn’t want to write based on assumptions, but instead stick to what she knew)  and instead depicts the story through a heterosexual teenage girl who falls in love with her GBF.

A searing story of love, revenge and betrayal from a bestselling author.

This book truly is magnificent and is worth a read whether you’re gay, straight or something in between. Do yourself a favour and get yourself a copy.
